Routine Inspection of 550 Frequency-Vibration Pest Killers Conducted in Usu City, Tacheng, Xinjiang
"These frequency-vibration pest killers are the 'guardian deities' of our crops. Regular maintenance is absolutely crucial-we can't afford any slip-ups," said Wang Jianfeng, a senior agronomist at the Usu City Agricultural Technology and Machinery Service Center in the Tacheng Prefecture of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, on March 26, while carefully inspecting the pest control devices.

To further enhance the green prevention and control of crop diseases and pests, and to ensure the safety of agricultural production and the quality of farm products, the Usu Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau has recently taken proactive measures. It organized a team of professional technicians to carry out comprehensive maintenance work on all 550 frequency-vibration pest killers across the city, with technicians going directly into the fields to perform the tasks.
At the maintenance sites, the technicians worked with clear division of responsibilities and seamless cooperation. They cleaned the solar panels of the pest killers to ensure efficient absorption of solar energy and conversion into sufficient electricity. They meticulously inspected the lamps, promptly replacing those that were damaged or had reduced luminous efficiency to maintain optimal pest attraction. Additionally, the technicians conducted detailed checks on key components such as the control devices and the electric grids, carefully adjusting various parameters to ensure normal operation.
It is understood that frequency-vibration pest killers utilize pests' phototactic, wave-tropic, and color-tactic behaviors. By emitting specific light waves and frequencies to attract pests, the devices then eliminate them with an electric grid, offering a green, environmentally friendly, and efficient physical method for pest control.
"With these pest killers, we've significantly reduced the use of pesticides. This not only cuts costs but also minimizes pesticide residues, improving the quality of our agricultural products," said Zhu Dengkai, a villager from Linjiazhuangzi Village in the Huanggong Town of Usu City.
"We are committed to strengthening the daily management and maintenance of frequency-vibration pest killers to ensure they function effectively during critical periods of pest control, minimizing damage to crops to the greatest extent," said Xu Jianye, Deputy Director of the Usu City Agricultural Technology and Machinery Service Center and an agricultural technology promotion researcher. "We will also intensify efforts to promote green pest control technologies, contributing to the green and high-quality development of agriculture in Usu City."
