Shijiazhuang Pilots Energy Storage Streetlights
The streetlights on the underpass on Youyi Street in Shijiazhuang now have a "double insurance" feature! Observant citizens recently discovered that the lights on the underpass had been quietly upgraded. The Shijiazhuang Municipal Urban Management Bureau's Urban Lighting Maintenance Center installed new energy storage streetlights on this pilot site. Even in the event of a power outage during extreme weather, they can still provide at least eight hours of emergency lighting, ensuring safe nighttime travel for residents.

To further enhance the city's emergency lighting capabilities, the Shijiazhuang Municipal Urban Management Bureau's Urban Lighting Maintenance Center is meticulously upgrading its lighting infrastructure, innovatively introducing energy storage streetlights to make the city's nights brighter, safer, and more welcoming.
The newly installed energy storage streetlights are equipped with an "emergency power bank" that instantly activates its reserve power supply in extreme weather, ensuring at least eight hours of continuous lighting. Field testing showed that even in simulated flooding conditions, even after a power outage, the energy storage streetlights could maintain street lighting, ensuring nighttime traffic safety.
Currently, energy-storage streetlights are being piloted on the underpass at Youyi Street. Going forward, the Shijiazhuang Municipal Urban Management Bureau's Urban Lighting Maintenance Center will steadily advance the installation of energy-storage streetlights at 14 underpasses and 51 other locations across the city, adding a new dimension to safeguarding the city's safe operation.
To further enhance the intelligent, information-based, and refined nature of urban lighting management, this year, the Shijiazhuang Municipal Urban Management Bureau's Urban Lighting Maintenance Center, following a comprehensive citywide survey of streetlight facilities, installed unique signage for each streetlight, achieving a "one pole, one location" approach. The signage includes ownership information, an emergency service number, and a pole code. Concerned citizens can directly call the emergency service number on the pole and accurately describe the fault location using the code. Maintenance personnel can also use the code to quickly locate the faulty pole, shortening repair times. Currently, the first batch of signage has been piloted on major thoroughfares such as Yuhua Road and Zhonghua Avenue, and will be gradually rolled out to all major urban road lighting facilities.
