Shuiche Town in Loudi's Xinhua County Builds Hunan's First Zero-Carbon Smart Street Light Demonstration Township

This year, Shuiche Town in Xinhua County, Loudi City, Hunan Province, has introduced a zero-carbon smart street light system integrating "photovoltaics + energy storage + intelligent control." This initiative aims to achieve green, energy-saving, environmentally friendly, and zero-carbon goals, establishing Hunan's first demonstration township for zero-carbon lighting with smart street lights.

During the May Day holiday, 134 newly installed zero-carbon smart street lights were officially put into operation in the central urban area of Shuiche Town, adding a beautiful scene to the nights of this tourism-oriented town.

It is reported that the zero-carbon smart street light system consists of three parts: solar photovoltaic panels, an energy storage system, and an IoT-based intelligent control system. The power supply system, composed of 36 pieces of 550-watt solar photovoltaic panels, can generate approximately 200 kWh of electricity per day on average. The electricity generated is stored by a lithium battery energy storage system. Each street light has a power of 160 watts. Operating at full power for eight hours per day, the daily electricity consumption is only 1.28 kWh. Each street light is equipped with an intelligent control module, allowing real-time adjustment of lighting time and brightness, monitoring energy consumption, and enabling remote fault monitoring, operation, and maintenance via the Internet of Things, thereby reducing manual inspection costs.
