Solar-Powered LED Street Lights Illuminate Wofo Temple Town in Zhuolu County, Zhangjiakou

Recently, the nights in Jiqingbao Village, Wofo Temple Town, Zhuolu County, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, have undergone a remarkable transformation. Ten solar-powered LED streetlights now brighten the narrow lanes and alleys, seamlessly connecting with the main road lighting to form a cohesive network-finally putting an end to the era of "darkness beneath the lights." This livelihood improvement project was jointly implemented by the Wofo Temple Town Government and the village work team from the Municipal Night Scene Lighting Management Center.

Addressing a Critical Need

During routine visits, the village work team identified a pressing issue: while the main roads were well-lit, the narrow alleys remained shrouded in darkness, creating significant safety risks-especially during rain or snow.

"Walking in the dark is nerve-wracking, and it’s even more worrying for the elderly and children," shared villagers. Their concerns quickly spurred action.

The town government established a task force, collaborating with the village’s "two committees" to conduct on-site surveys. They meticulously measured lane slopes, spacing, and other factors to develop a tailored "one-street, one-policy" plan, ensuring each light was installed where it was needed most.

Collaborative Effort, Swift Results

With the town government coordinating resources, the village work team providing technical expertise, and the "two committees" and villagers overseeing progress, the project moved rapidly. Despite high temperatures, the team completed the installation-including repairs to damaged fixtures-in just two weeks. Now, 100% of the village enjoys nighttime lighting, turning once-dark corners as bright as day.

A Bright Future for Rural Revitalization

The lighting upgrade in Jiqingbao Village is a key part of Wofo Temple Town’s annual assistance plan. Moving forward, the town will leverage such "small streetlights" as a springboard for further "micro projects", including road hardening and environmental improvements-using tangible changes to enhance residents’ quality of life and fuel rural revitalization.

More than just light sources, these streetlights symbolize the bond between the Party and the people. As rural infrastructure continues to improve, Wofo Temple Town is bridging the "last kilometer" of public welfare, ensuring the warmth of progress reaches every household.
