Small repairs and improvements benefit people's livelihoods; meticulous renovations bring a fresh look. Urumqi is responding to residents' aspirations for a better life with "small but beautiful," "small but exquisite," and "small but practical" micro-renovation projects.

The Foreign Trade Leather Factory residential area is old, with outdated and weak infrastructure. It has long suffered from a lack of public lighting and dim nighttime illumination, posing safety risks such as bumps and slips for elderly people walking at night, children playing, and residents strolling at night. This not only affects residents' daily lives but also poses certain security hazards.

The Jingjiang Road Community, in conjunction with a five-party council comprised of the community's Party Committee, Residents' Committee, Owners' Committee, property management company, and resident representatives, included the courtyard lighting renovation project in its key list of livelihood projects, striving to resolve the issue effectively. The community held multiple special consultation meetings to listen to residents' demands face-to-face, systematically analyze the pain points and difficulties of the renovation, and widely solicit opinions and suggestions from all parties, thus building a collaborative governance force.

During the consultation process, representatives from all parties, based on the actual conditions of the old courtyards in the community, fully discussed and offered suggestions on core issues such as the location and quantity of streetlights, equipment selection, construction procedures, and post-construction maintenance. After multiple rounds of negotiation, the community selected energy-saving, durable, wiring-free, and easy-to-maintain solar streetlights, balancing practicality, economy, and adaptability, perfectly fitting the site conditions of the old courtyards, minimizing the impact of the renovation, and maximizing its effectiveness.

After the plan was finalized, the community coordinated and followed up on the entire construction process. Staff conducted on-site surveys of the courtyard's road layout, scientifically planning the installation locations of streetlights and proactively avoiding fire lanes and main traffic routes. This ensured comprehensive lighting coverage without blind spots, while also minimizing disruption to residents' daily passage and fire safety.

Now, rows of brand-new solar streetlights stand neatly along both sides of the courtyard's roads. As night falls, the warm yellow light illuminates every passageway in the community, completely ending residents' predicament of "traveling in the dark" at night. It also effectively prevents accidents and security risks, significantly improving residents' sense of security and enhancing the overall appearance and quality of this old community.
