Taichung City replaces LED street lights to save 8 million electricity bills

There are more than 200,000 street lamps in Taichung City, of which more than 60,000 are halogen lamps. In order to implement the concept of promoting energy conservation and sustainability, the China Construction Bureau will expand the inventory and replacement of old halogen lamps this year. The 52 roads have undergone an overall inspection. The 388-inch old street lamp has been replaced by a new LED energy-saving lamp. In the future, it will continue to promote the replacement of old lamps and implement the energy-saving and carbon-reduction policies.

The Construction Bureau said that under the efforts of the city government, various district offices and Taipower for three months and nights, a total of 60,515 old street lamps were inspected, of which 8900 street lamps have been replaced with more energy-saving LED lamps and 4,000 street lamps. Abolish the use of electricity, the initial assessment can save about 76,000RMB per month in electricity costs, saving 8.71 million RMB per year.
