The Xi'an Airport Phase III Lighting Station Relocation and Upgrade Project Successfully Concluded

At 4:00 AM on March 29th, with the successful relocation of the last navigational light circuit at Xi'an Airport's No. 0 lighting station, the lighting station relocation and circuit upgrade project-the longest and most technically challenging project in the airport's Phase III expansion construction, involving uninterrupted flight operations-was successfully completed.

The Xi'an Airport Phase III Lighting Station Relocation and Upgrade Project Successfully Concluded

The No. 0 lighting station was the final link in the Xi'an Airport Phase III construction's uninterrupted lighting station relocation and circuit upgrade work. It involved numerous power supply circuits, complex technology, and required relocation without affecting normal flight operations, posing significant safety challenges. The Lighting Station Party Branch of the Flight Area Management Department formed a Party member commando team integrating "technical breakthroughs, safety assurance, and emergency response," assigning responsibilities to specific posts and tasks to individuals. To ensure the relocation work proceeded flawlessly, the Party member task force, starting in November 2021, collaborated with the design unit and construction team to conduct multiple rounds of technical demonstrations. They innovatively applied a dual-verification model of "Aowei Map modeling pre-simulation + runway simulation," simulating dozens of contingency scenarios in advance and developing over a dozen emergency plans. Utilizing post-flight off-peak hours, they coordinated and completed preparatory work such as cable laying and equipment installation and commissioning, laying a solid foundation for the final relocation.

From March 22nd to 29th, the final stage saw the lighting station's Party member task force, in collaboration with the airport construction command's flight area engineering department and construction units, form a dedicated work team. For seven consecutive days, they utilized the brief window of opportunity from 1:00 AM to 6:00 AM each day to advance construction. The team overcame difficulties such as poor nighttime working conditions and low temperatures, strictly adhering to the principle of "same-day construction, same-day acceptance, and same-day restoration," completing the relocation and commissioning of a total of 40 power supply circuits in batches, ultimately achieving a seamless switch between the old and new systems.

The newly commissioned Phase III navigation lighting system is based on a modular design concept, integrating highly reliable industrial equipment with customized integration capabilities. It adopts digital and intelligent technologies and has functions such as remote monitoring and fault self-diagnosis. It can significantly improve the operational support capabilities under complex weather conditions, marking a new stage in the management of Xi'an Airport's navigation lighting system, characterized by "full-process digitalization and full-scenario intelligence," and contributing to the construction of a "four-type airport."
