60 New Solar LED Streetlights Installed in Pingpu Village, Xingning, Meizhou, Guangdong
Recently, a donation and acceptance ceremony for streetlights, organized by the Guangdong Lions Club, was held in Pingpu Village, Jingnan Town, Xingning City, Meizhou, Guangdong Province. The ceremony was attended by Yang Xiaojuan, Vice Chairperson of the Jingnan Town People’s Congress; Liang Yingheng, Captain of the Life Light Service Team of the Guangdong Lions Club; Li Hongli, Director of the club; Chen Jiuxiang, Membership Management Specialist from the Third Division; along with Chen Chengye, Secretary of the Pingpu Village Party Branch, and villager representative Chen Weiren.

During the ceremony, all attendees witnessed the official handover and commissioning of 60 LED solar streetlights. The Jingnan Town government presented a letter of appreciation and a commemorative banner to the Guangdong Lions Club, and also awarded an honorary certificate to Chen Weixin, a fellow villager who actively facilitated the project. It is reported that the donated solar streetlights comprehensively cover key village roads, including a 900-meter section from Beipeng to Baitang on the main village road (Baipi Road), as well as 480 meters of Xiangyun Road, 60 meters of Louxia Road, 60 meters of Shenxiawo Road, and 60 meters of Laowuxia Road, totaling 1,560 meters of village pathways.
According to relevant personnel from Pingpu Village, the newly installed LED solar streetlights have significantly improved the public lighting conditions in the village, effectively enhanced nighttime travel safety for residents, and strengthened road security. Additionally, they are expected to save the village approximately 4,800 yuan in electricity costs and about 3,000 yuan in maintenance expenses annually, directly benefiting around 550 villagers. This initiative not only serves as a tangible livelihood project but also contributes to Jingnan Town’s efforts in energy conservation, emission reduction, and promoting green development. Moreover, it is a heartwarming endeavor aimed at consolidating poverty alleviation achievements and advancing rural revitalization in all respects. On the evening of the ceremony, as dusk fell, the newly installed streetlights uniformly lit up at 6:30 PM, brightening Pingpu Village’s nights and boosting villagers’ confidence in building a better home together.
