122 Solar Streetlights Illuminate Lüchun County, Honghe Prefecture, Yunnan Province

As night falls, the village of Lalong in Daheishan Town, Lüchun County, Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, is illuminated by 122 solar streetlights illuminating the once-dark roads home. Recently, with the completion of the installation and testing of these streetlights, the three village groups of Shaluo, Micu, and Lalong have historically eliminated lighting blind spots, and the main roads of all six village groups in Lalong Village are now illuminated, benefiting 139 households and 682 people.

Lalalong Village is located in a remote mountainous area, comprising six village groups. The villagers' income mainly relies on rubber, tea, and pepper cultivation, as well as migrant work. For a long time, the lighting infrastructure in the three village groups of Shaluo, Micu, and Lalong was weak, with main roads and alleys lacking streetlights at night, forcing villagers to rely on flashlights and posing significant safety hazards. The village-based work team and the village committee prioritized the safety and well-being of the villagers, meticulously inspecting each road section and location to identify blind spots, clarify installation conditions and needs, and scientifically developing a street light installation implementation plan based on the village layout and population density, clearly defining technical standards, safety regulations, and division of responsibilities.

The project was initially hampered by funding issues. Huang Yan, the township team leader stationed in Daheishan Town, and Huang Liangrong, the first secretary stationed in Lalong Village, proactively reported to the designated assistance unit, the Honghe Prefecture Tax Bureau, explaining the shortcomings, the villagers' expectations, and the urgency. Ultimately, they secured 70,760 yuan in special funds for lighting, ensuring the full payment for 122 solar street lights and related facilities.

During the construction phase, the village adhered to a collaborative approach: each of the 139 households in the three groups contributed one laborer to handle tasks such as transportation, leveling, excavation, and installation; the village-based work team and the village committee oversaw the entire process, ensuring quality and safety. With the combined efforts of cadres and the masses, the project progressed efficiently and was completed on schedule.
